The International Printing Museum: The Other Ink and Iron

We like to think we know a fun fact or two about Carson, our LA County neighbor to the near northwest.

We know that one of our favorite TV shows, Reno 911, often filmed there. We know that they have a delightful Magic Johnson-owned Starbucks just off the freeway. We know that it was the Carson High School cheerleaders that were featured in the "Hey Mickey" music video (OK, that one comes from a quick wikipedia search).

But we did not know until recently that Carson, CA is home to one of the more unique museums you'll probably ever see: The International Printing Museum.

Before you start yawning, we're not talking about a warehouse for your sputtering old Epson. Think much older school, but in a way that is very much of the moment. Do you like letterpress cards?  Handcrafted books and posters? Typesetting and bold graphic design?  Then this place is for you. You'll get all that and a pretty fascinating history lesson to boot.

Our newest inretrospect sellers Josh and Alyssa (see more about them in our Featured Sellers section of the website) are big supporters of the International Printing Museum and heavily involved with promoting its offerings.  They approached us about collaborating with the Museum on a fundraiser sale and other future events, and we've jumped in with both feet. Plans are underway, so watch our Facebook page and email newsletter for info and updates on in-store activities, sale items and more to benefit the Museum fund.
